About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering has been in existence since the inception of Modern Group of Colleges and has grown into a department with specialisations in all the major areas of Civil Engineering. The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management. The academic programme of B. Tech in Civil Engineering is one of the best in the campus. Many of the faculty members have received advanced degrees and/or training from reputed institutions. The activities of the department are carried out under these different divisions as follows:

About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Modern Group of Colleges offers a highly competitive B. Tech program. The four year program leading to a B. Tech degree builds strong foundations in all traditional areas of Computer Science and Engineering. In addition the choice of electives offers the freedom for one to specialize in one or more areas of Computer Science and Engineering. The state of art curriculum promotes independent thinking and learning at an individual’s pace. There is great emphasis on hands-on training and design as part of course projects. The department strives to provide state of art infrastructure and facilities to our undergraduate students where they bring their project and research ideas to fruition. The department has taken up the challenge to attract world class faculty in all areas of Computer Science and Engineering. We plan to continue building on the initial momentum and to attract the best students and the faculty over the coming years.
Computer science and engineering students will learn about basic engineering techniques, as other engineering students, during first year course in Applied Sciences Department. These techniques include Engineering Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and Engineering drawing. In CSE Department they are exposed to core computer science subjects like programming, data structures, Digital logic, Theoretical computer science, Algorithms, Computer networks, Operating systems, Web technologies, Databases and Computer Architecture are few to mention.
3. Electrical Engineering

About the Department
Department of Electrical Engineering at Modern Group of colleges has evolved with time and offers B.Tech in Electrical Engineering for both 12thstandard & Diploma holder. The UG curriculum provides strong base to the students in Electrical Engineering and provides exposure to the latest technologies and leads the students to work on interesting research problems in the following areas of specialization: Microelectronics & VLSI, Control & Automation, Power Engineering, Signal Processing, Communication & Networks, RF & Microwaves and Photonics.
The research interests of the faculty members encompass a wide gamut of sub-disciplines of Electrical Engineering. Collaboration with faculty members from other disciplines, both within and outside the institute, is encouraged. The research activity of the department includes fundamental research, sponsored and consultancy projects, and is carried out with active participation of the students, faculty, staff and research engineers.
In addition to the strong undergraduate programs, the department has been playing a pioneering role in producing world class postgraduates and research scholars. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students to learn and innovate. The department has distinguished faculty, many holding Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes in India. The faculty of the department has been constantly carrying out research on many cutting edge technologies and regularly publishes in top international journals. The department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by the industry.
