MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses)
“The mind is like an umbrella-it functions best when open”
Modern Group of Colleges provides the participation to the students in the Massive Open Online Courses(MOOC) that offers a free academic material to our students which are used for design and development of projects in their respective fields and enhance their academic skills.
In MOOC, courses are designed for large numbers of students with the option of free and open registration, a publicly-shared curriculum, and open-ended outcomes. These programs can be accessed by anyone anywhere as long as they have an internet connection, and offer a full/complete course experience online for free and provide education that may enable certification, employment or further studies.
The aim of Modern Group of Colleges is to give students an environment to understand and get expertise in seemingly incomprehensible technologies of today’s world through MOOC, so that they can turn their own ideas into reality. This helps students in developing their skills, knowledge and attitude required for participation on a global level.
MOOCs provide participants with course materials that are normally used in a conventional education setting - such as lectures, videos, examples, study materials and problem sets. MOOCs require students to take online tests or quizzes with multiple choice answers that can be graded automatically and require students to complete peer-reviewed assignments.
It is a self-determined pace of learning so that students may study according to their own schedules (although some do have start and completion dates). This also gives students the opportunity to re-watch parts of the lecture that is more challenging for them. These platforms do not offer academic credit to students who complete a MOOC; however students may receive electronic certificates of accomplishment.
MOOC integrate social networking, accessible online resources and are facilitated by leading practitioners in the field of study. MOOCs build on the engagement of learners who self-organizing their participation according to learning goals, prior knowledge and skills, and common interests.
Apart from this, MOOCs offer interactive user forums, which are extremely useful in building a community for students and professors.
